“Our System Should Be a Model<\/span>“<\/h1>
United at the ministry to request the safeguarding of the Prato system. The district does not want to risk being crushed by the new extended producer responsibility legislation in the textile sector. The first point to protect is related to the sector of reuse and recycling of textile garments. Prato already has a supply chain that reuses up to 65% of used clothing and recycles up to 32%, with only 34% waste. The possibility of increasing the percentage of garments to be incinerated at the government level must be avoided. Then there is the issue of the environmental contribution. From an initial reading of the draft decree, it seems that everything would end up benefiting producers, but Prato asks for it to be distributed across the entire supply chain. This would mean ensuring investments in innovation and sustainability. Mazzetti, in order to give further visibility to the district, is organizing a visit to Prato by Minister Pichetto Fratin and department technicians, and she will also bring the various economic categories in Prato to an hearing in the parliamentary Environment committee.
