An Award for Excellence in Reuse and Recycling: Corertex Recognized Among Leading Circular Economy Enterprises
The Corertex Consortium received the award as one of the best circular economy companies during the 14th edition of the ceremony organized by the Foundation for Sustainable Development and Italian Exhibition Group, under the patronage of the Ministry of Environment and Energy Security. The award ceremony was held in Rimini as part of Ecomondo, a flagship event for the green and circular economy. The jury acknowledged Corertex’s work in managing 50,000 tons of used clothing annually, with 65% destined for reuse and 32% for recycling.
In total, 27 Italian companies were honored across the fields of circular economy, green building, and climate neutrality. Corertex was given the opportunity to showcase its project on the main stage at Ecomondo, alongside other prominent Italian enterprises.
A Circular Economy Model: The Success of Corertex Consortium
The jury, composed of industry experts, praised Corertex for its reuse and recycling model, highlighting the consortium’s capacity to transform a significant amount of used clothing into reusable resources. “This award is yet another recognition of the work we have been doing for years,” said Raffaello De Salvo, president of Corertex. “We are present at regional, national, and European decision-making tables, representing a crucial sector for Italy’s textile economy.”
Innovation and Sustainability at the Core of Corertex’s Activities
Vice President Fabio Marseo expressed pride in the consortium being recognized alongside companies and administrations dedicated to sustainability: “This award is the result of the hard work and commitment of all our members, who continually invest in technological innovation to make the sector increasingly sustainable.” The recognition comes shortly after the latest ministerial meeting on the Textile EPR, where Corertex plays a key role in ensuring the future of the textile reuse and recycling sector.
