A productive gathering to discuss the current landscape and outline future objectives; such was the event hosted by Corertex, a consortium specialized in textile reuse and recycling.
Representing over thirty local companies and some on a national platform, the consortium assembled to strengthen their collaboration and renew their commitment to promoting sustainability in the textile industry. The event took place at the Tavola sports field, gathering a significant representation of consortium members, by invitation of President Raffaello De Salvo, Vice-President Fabio Marseo, and the entire governing board.

Although the atmosphere was celebratory, the event also served as an open forum for discussion, as there are certainly no shortage of unresolved issues in the textile sector. “The consortium’s work continues unabated,” states De Salvo, “even though the political landscape, both at a national and European level, seems currently stationary. News regarding the Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) is slow to come, which further stalls any updates on related regulations.”
Throughout the meeting, various consortium representatives emphasized the importance of cohesion and collaboration to tackle and resolve the future challenges of the textile reuse and recycling sector. The event also provided an opportunity for feedback on the latest institutional meetings in which consortium members participated. “We discussed our involvement in the latest roundtable discussion in the Tuscany Region, where we expressed our full willingness to contribute to the waste management plan,” concludes De Salvo. “We also deliberated on the decision to initiate a collaborative dialogue with Anter, the National Association for the Protection of Renewable Energies. This is a partnership that, we are convinced, will bring mutual benefits in the field of environmental sustainability.”

In summary, the event not only reinforced the sense of unity among consortium members but also marked a significant step towards achieving concrete objectives for a more sustainable future in the textile industry.
